7 Best Arrest Photo Removal Services Reviewed for 2026

If you are reading this in the first week, you are in the best position you will ever be in. Almost nobody arrives here at that point, and the difference between acting now and acting in six months is the difference between a short list of sites and a long one.

Our main guide covers the checks to run on any company you call, and this page is the practical version: what an arrest photo actually is, what happens to it over the next few months, and the seven companies that work on it.

Reputation Revivor is one of the seven and publishes this page.

Know what you are actually dealing with

An arrest photo is taken during booking and enters a county record that is published for press access. Everything after that is copying.

Three layers result, and only two are reachable.

The county record. Government held, published because the law requires it. Not removable by any company. It changes only through sealing or expungement, which is a court process, not a service.

Commercial aggregators. Private sites republishing booking data to sell removals or advertising. Fully reachable, and where all the achievable work lives.

Image indexes. The photograph itself, indexed separately from any page carrying it. Reachable, and frequently forgotten until everything else is done.

A company quoting to remove your mugshot without distinguishing these three has not looked at your situation.

Understand the timeline, because it is why speed matters

Aggregators pull county feeds within hours to days, so the first wave is largely complete before most people know the photo is online.

Then aggregators copy each other, which is why the count keeps rising for weeks rather than stabilizing. A list built on day three is incomplete by day thirty.

Then re-hosting begins, where the image file is copied to sites carrying no text at all. These are invisible to a name search and appear only in image results.

Acting early does not stop the first wave. It stops the second and third, which is most of the eventual work.

Get the disposition, whatever it is

The single most valuable thing you can hold. If charges were never filed, dropped, dismissed, or ended in acquittal, request a certified copy from the clerk of the court immediately and get several.

This document converts a request from a favor into an accuracy argument: the site is publishing an accusation without the outcome, which is incomplete rather than merely unflattering.

If your case is still open, the disposition does not exist yet, and that is worth knowing too. Some work can proceed and some should wait, and a company that takes a full fee while the matter is unresolved is charging you for a job that will need doing again.

Check whether your state has legislated

Several states have passed laws targeting the publish and charge model, commonly prohibiting a fee for removing a booking photo where the case was dismissed or produced no conviction, sometimes with a required response window.

Coverage is uneven and details differ, so ask your state attorney general’s consumer protection office rather than relying on a summary. It costs nothing. If a law covers you, paying a company for what a site must already do free is the worst outcome available in this category.

The seven

National Security Law Firm

Washington DC, all 50 states, flat 3,000 dollars per item refunded in full if the content is not removed or de-indexed, with financing over 3 to 24 months. Mugshot and arrest record removal is a named practice, including after charges are dismissed or dropped.

The clearest terms available and the reason speed matters commercially: at 3,000 per item, acting in week one against four listings costs a fraction of acting in month six against fifteen.

Guaranteed Removals

Canadian, since 2009, covering mugshot and criminal record removal with no money upfront and payment after successful removal. Their published guidance tells buyers to attempt self removal first, which on a short early list is frequently sufficient and costs them the sale.

Removify

Melbourne, founded around 2019, genuine no win no fee across 50 or more platforms with a published 88 percent success rate and a monitoring product alongside. Reported costs 500 to 2,500 US dollars per successful removal, so it suits a short list rather than a wide spread. Independent ratings are low and mixed against a much higher self-reported score.

Reputation Resolutions

Colorado, founded 2013, BBB accredited since 2014 with a reported clean complaint history and 24/7 phone answering. Removals bill pay for performance while retained work bills separately, which is the right split when the county record is staying and the copies are not. Independent review volume is thin.

Defamation Defenders

Boulder, founded 2016, the narrowest specialist here with a proprietary system for finding and removing mugshot images from Google, Bing and publishing sites. BBB accredited since 2019 with an A rating.

The standing caveat: guaranteed results and money back marketing about third party content, with several Trustpilot complaints describing substantial payments and no delivered results. Get the scope, the refund trigger and the exclusions in writing before paying.

NetReputation

Sarasota, founded 2014, covering removal alongside suppression, monitoring and privacy work. The relevant strength is the data broker layer, because booking data feeds people search profiles that then rank independently, and clearing those reduces what remains to find.

Reputation Revivor

Ours, so apply the checks in our own guides to us first.

We build the site list and the image list separately, treat the disposition as the first deliverable, and quote the removable items rather than the whole problem. We say plainly when the county record is staying.

Where we fail our own checks: no published pricing, no published pay on success terms, no independent review record, and no published entity or founding year. For a straightforward early-stage removal, the pay on success options above carry less risk for you than we do.

This week, in order

  1. Search your name, your name with the county, and your name with the charge. Record every URL and date.
  2. Search image results separately and run a reverse image search on the photo.
  3. Request certified copies of the disposition if one exists, or note when it will.
  4. Ask your state attorney general’s office whether a statute applies.
  5. Submit removal requests yourself to every site with a working form. A meaningful share comply.
  6. Then get quotes for what remains, against a list you built rather than one a vendor scoped.

Repeat step one a fortnight later. If the list has grown, the spread is still active and that changes what scope you should agree to. A case review costs nothing if you would rather have the list built for you.
